A lighting system activated via a pull chain mechanism allows users to visualize the chain reaction that can be set off by a simple movement “from arm’s length”. Inspired by the bell systems used in Victorian houses in the past, this mechanism triggers a series of fleeting reactions from the user’s input. It helps bridge the gap between individuals and the increasingly automated and impersonal objects that surround them by generating a physical link.
